Richmondshire Rotary Club has once again named West Burton the best kept village in Wensleydale, heading off tough competition from Ravensworth who came in as the runner-up. 15 villages entered the competition this year, with judging by members of the Rotary Club.

Richmond Rotary President Mac Bryant said: “This year’s competition proves once again that our local village communities take real pride in their surroundings.”

“Richmond Rotary Club is delighted to encourage and support their efforts which benefit residents and visitors alike.”

West Burton was noted for overall tidiness and for the maintenance of private and public spaces. The prize of £400 pounds is intended to be used to fund a new notice board for the village.
