Due to a new grant for over £9,000 from the ‘Big Lottery Fund’ children and visitors to West Burton can now enjoy some new playground facilities. A see-saw and roundabout has been added to the existing swings and football pitch, providing a more complete offering.
Burton-cum-Walden Parish Council had been looking to expand the facilities for some time. After consulting with the community the bid for £9,000 was made and was finally successful in April. Councillor Gail Dent who steered the bid through its phases said: “The council is very grateful to the Big Lottery Fund for the opportunity to expand our play facilities. We hope the children of the village and visitors to the area will enjoy the new seesaw and roundabout for many years.”
